OVA's OCs: Sheikah Shrine Maiden Dashi

Another bio for one of my shrine maidens. I'll be switching over to Zora's Domain quite soon with the approach of May 🪸🌊There is one more maiden bio to be posted after this!

Shrine Maiden: Dashi

Dashi experienced significant loss during the Great Calamity. The devastation claimed her mother and father. When rescue efforts began days after, the toddler was discovered wandering aimlessly among the rubble. Miraculously, Dashi arrived in Kakariko with little to no injuries and little awareness of the situation. She joined many other orphaned children, which the Main Building decided to watch over. The High Council agreed these children would be raised by them and the growing Civil Council. While some children departed for Hateno, Dashi and others stayed behind to be raised in Kakariko.

Despite harsh beginnings, the orphans received the care needed to start healing. Slowly, they began to live life as children should while the Sheikah maintained peace within town. Being so young during the Great Calamity, Dashi’s memory of the event and losing her parents felt like a dream she barely remembered. Thankfully, it appeared as though her journey towards recovery would be light. She became close to the retired shrine maidens who started to raise her. The young girl listened, fascinated, by the stories of times before Calamity erupted; of unearthed shrines, champions, and heroes. Some even told of the disaster, and the courageous efforts that ensured their survival. Time continued on like this, and Dashi became a helpful, well-mannered child. She assisted with the cleaning and habitual duties without protest. These chores felt like the least she could do to repay those who took her in. Active maidens came home periodically and shared current adventures from across Hyrule. Dashi immersed herself in their stories as well, hoping to be a part of this great effort one day.

Encouraged by the sisterhood of maidens who had watched her grow, Dashi stepped up for the trials at the age of 15. Surprisingly, a powerful spiritual essence resided within the girl, which revealed itself during these tests. This discovery resulted in the opportunity of becoming a high priestess. Though a profound position, Dashi desired the venturesome life of a shrine maiden, and she continued to walk her chosen path as classes began. Having spent her life around maidens, the early years passed with ease. And while her swordsmanship looked unremarkable, basic forms reinforced with her powerful wind control became a leath tactic. Dashi spent her apprenticeship in the plains of Akkala, giving her the space to cultivate herbs and spices year-round. 

Returning to Kakariko, the to-be shrine maiden was met with celebration from the community who raised her. Dashi humbly received their praise, knowing this future only to be possible with their help. Her adoptive family had the honor of tattooing and presenting her to the High Council.
