OVA's OCs: Kagawa's Plot

Evening! 🌙 I've been up to a little OC writing for my beloved Kagawa. This is the beginning of the next major plot I'm setting up with a few friends. It's also an introduction to my latest character, Yonezawa.

Kagawa’s Plot:

Another chilly day turned into an even colder night. Kagawa left his office job for the day. Usually, after a long day of work, he headed straight home for a drink to savor every hour away from work. Tonight, however, things differed. Kagawa headed in the opposite direction of home, closer to the city and its nightlife. He kept his car in the office lot and took the train. It was Friday night, and the area bustled despite the cold. People all looking for a good time to escape the reality of their miserable lives. Bar signs and nightclubs flashed in every direction as if attempting to coax more customers inside. However, Kagawa’s intentions were not to find a good time. His detour from home had a purpose. He stepped off the train and headed straight for one bar in particular.

Kagawa stepped inside the dimly lit club. Music blared from speakers and lights pulsed in different colors across the space. He took a seat at the bar and ordered a simple drink.

“Never thought someone like you would be looking for someone like me,” an unfamiliar voice said to Kagawa. He turned to see a man similar in height. The man wore fine, all-black clothes that contrasted his silvery hair.

“I don’t really associate myself with your kind,” Kagawa said. Unimpressed he turned back to the bar in his seat. The man allowed an associate to take his jacket before he took a seat next to Kagawa. He laughed shortly.

“A bold statement coming out of your mouth, Kagawa,” he signaled for the bartender. While outwardly unphased, Kagawa confirmed the man was well-informed. Kagawa’s father had decent recognition and accumulated power in the last several years. It was less known he had a defiant son.

“You’re quite knowledgeable, Yonezawa, Itsuki,” Kagawa shot back. In the two years since Yonezawa took over one of the local businesses, he’d gathered a nickname: the white wolf, Shiroi ōkami. His hair was always a silvery blonde that matched his pale eyes. They contrasted his usual black wardrobe. From what Kagawa could gather, Yonezawa was a decisive and strategic-thinking man. He’d completely revitalized the dying business he’d inherited. Kagawa figured a man with this much potential wouldn’t settle where he was. Yonezawa raised his eyebrows at his full name. He hadn’t heard it in some time. It wasn’t a comfort hearing it from Kagawa’s mouth.

“... What do you want?” Yonezawa cut to the chase. He didn’t have time for games.

“To topple my father from his empire,” Kagawa responded swallowing the rest of his drink.

“You were the best person I found to fill the vacant position.”

“Is that supposed to be a compliment?” Yonezawa asked sarcastically.

“Take it as you will. I don’t care,” Kagawa ordered another drink.

“And what makes you think I want to help you?”

“You want power. This is an opportunity to take it. No strings attached.” Kagawa wanted to eliminate his father but wanted nothing to do with the yakuza. From his perspective, the yakuza is what destroyed his family. It corrupted his father into what he’d become. He’d love nothing more than to forget about his father’s existence and move on with his life.

“Besides, you and I know my father isn’t just a thorn in my side.” Kagawa’s father was known for business, not friendliness. He wouldn’t care about making a few enemies if it led to his advantage. Despite being a brute, Kagawa had to admit, his father’s organization was impeccable. He’d already exploited all the records possible during his work shifts. Yonezawa sat in silence with his drink. He hated this, but Kagawa’s implications were correct. He found himself at odds with the Kagawa senior often, usually having to compromise with his superior.

A man with a raven

“And something like this… it’s kind of your specialty no?” Kagawa continued, implying he knew more than just a name.

“You’re an interesting man, Kagawa,” Yonezawa finally replied. There weren’t many times he found himself caught off guard. Yonezawa realized he’d underestimated Kagawa’s capabilities. The man next to him contrasted the rumors his father spread about him. Yonezawa saw no point in ever reaching out to his superior’s son. He’d only ever heard of a cowardly man with no intelligence who was nothing more than a watered-down musician. Kagawa not being yakuza had him foolishly take the rumors at face value, and Yonezawa hadn’t thought of him much since. Not until a cryptic email caught his attention one afternoon.

“Well, if you’ve dragged me out here you must have a plan to share?”
