Happy New Year! 🎉I hope everyone was able to bring in the year safely! This year my goal is to have hand-made items in my shop. Testing is currently in the works from the Lamiaceae family series, plus some new art for the beginning of the year. In the meantime, this is part one of the witch's story from Black Desert Online.
Areallya l
Areallya’s life began as any other baby born into Calpheon nobility. The firstborn of her family, she became their pride and joy. The baby grew from an infant to a toddler and began to show signs of great magical ability. Her parents wasted no time seeking discipline for such excellent talent, and from then on, Areallya’s life had a rigorous structure preparing her for the future.
All of this preparation would pay off years later, as she would be accepted into one of the most prestigious magic high schools in Calpheon. While she’d grown in magical talent and beauty, Areallya’s upbringing was considered sheltered. Despite her naivety, she found friends and enjoyed her scholastic career. Many of her peers considered her kind and quite humble given the expectations on her shoulders. But, when someone shines this bright, it’s bound to attract jealousy. There were those in her class who only wished to humiliate her. So, they schemed and invited her to hang out with them after school one day. The oblivious Areallya agreed and appeared at the arranged spot once the last class concluded. Just for a little while, she thought, convincing herself she would be home before curfew to resume her studies. Her classmates giggled and trotted along. They talked and gossiped like any other teenagers, heading closer to the city’s border. Unease crept through Areallya’s body with each step away from the tightly knit buildings and streets. She ignored the feeling, just wanting to fit in with everyone else. They all walked along the protective barrier that bordered the woods. Solid white stones mark the invisible wall. Its purpose was to keep opposing magical forces from entering the city, but nothing kept things from exiting. Soon they began daring each other to stick limbs outside the white stones between high-pitched squeals and laughs. Areallya’s turn came. She hesitated for a moment holding the intended hand to her chest. Suddenly, the impatient group pushed her outside the border. Areallya stumbled to her knees. Laughter filled the air as she stumbled back to her feet. They stood in her way when she tried to cross back over the stones.
“Please! Please let me back across!” But her fear only delighted the group, their laughter turned to taunting. They continued to push her and Areallya desperately tried to fight back to safety. Smoke abruptly bellowed against the invisible wall. Instead of reaching the city the black magic curved around the domed barrier. The group of teens dispersed in frightened screams, leaving Areallya in the nauseating smoke. Her vision went blurry and she could feel her consciousness slipping no matter how hard she fought. The last thing she saw was a crow staring down at her in the trees. Before her body crumpled to the ground, the master of this magic came forth to catch her. Having succeeded in this capture, he retreated into the depths of the woods, the dark smoke following him through the trees.
A faint voice grew louder as Areallya awoke. An officer of Calpheon held her limp body up, calling to others in his search party.
“I found her! Get the lead investigator from DMI! This can’t be good.” More officers surrounded her. Their faces all frowned in concern seeing her state. Areallya’s body wouldn’t cooperate, and she continued to lay limp and mute in the officer's arms. Haziness began to come over her once more. The man speaking to her sounded farther away with every sentence. Having passed out, he carefully picked her up and the group started for the city.
